On December 3rd 2005, the Bollywood Group in conjunction with the CL Communications Network staged the Bollywood Music Awards at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

It was the first show of its kind in the Caribbean, and attracted a crowd of over ten thousand people, coming from various parts of the Caribbean and South America.  The best entertainers in the Indian music industry were in attendance, and there were performances by popular East Indian bands Trishul & Karma, both of which are affiliated to CL Communications’ East Indian radio station “Radio 90.5 FM - The People’s Station”.

Awards were presented to Kumar Sanu, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Babul Supriyo, Harry Anand, Udit Narayan, Asha Bhosle, and the late Madan Mohan.  The prestigious “Lifetiem Achievement Award” was bestowed on Mr. Kamaluddin Mohammed for his outstanding contributions to the development of the East Indian movie and music industry in the Caribbean.
